Taiwan cities fund interest-free loans for study abroad
Recent initiatives introduced by the Taiwan Ministry of Education have motivated several Taiwanese cities to fund interest-free student loans for study abroad starting in 2013.
The purpose of the interest-free loan program is to encourage Taiwanese students from 20 to 40 years old to pursue advanced and professional studies overseas.
Loan funding and availability varies among cities. For example, in Taipei, the city government has allocated up to $70,000 USD in funding for 1,000 students per year starting in 2013. Similarly, the city of Changhua has announced its own program, which will distribute approximately $150 million USD to local students in the next 12 years, with no payback for 3 years plus an extended payment period of up to 16 years.
It is believed that the majority of Taiwanese students will choose the U.S. as their study destination in 2013.
As a result, AIEF encourages you to take this excellent opportunity to recruit Taiwanese students by registering for our upcoming American Education Fairs in Taipei (Mar. 23-24), Kaohsiung (Mar. 25), and Changhua (Mar. 26) by January 30 at:
